A rustic cabin in a gated community with long range views. Two bedrooms, Two baths and a loft, sleeps six.
Leather sofas pulled around the fireplace, open beams overhead, and enough seats that nobody's perched on an arm. Gas fireplace for the nights nobody feels like being in charge of the fire. This is where the board games come out when it rains.
Full kitchen with a range, dishwasher and bar seating for whoever's supervising. You'll cook more here than you plan to, the grocery store is a good half hour down the mountain, so stock up in town on the way in.
Log-frame beds and quilts downstairs, and a loft under the A-frame roof with extra beds for the cousins. The upstairs ceiling is low in spots, that's the shape of the roof, and guests still take the loft first.
The deck runs off the main level and looks straight out at the ridges. Covered on one end, open on the other, so rain isn't a reason to go in. Most mornings this is where the coffee happens, and most evenings it's where dinner ends up.
Gas fire table on the deck, chairs around it. No hauling wood, no smoke in your jacket, just turn it on. Gated community, paved road up, quiet the whole way.
